President Trump in a late-night tweet Saturday defended his slow walk down a “very slippery” ramp after giving the commencement address at West Point, which sparked attention on social media.
“The ramp that I descended after my West Point Commencement speech was very long & steep, had no handrail and, most importantly, was very slippery,” he said.
“The last thing I was going to do is ‘fall’ for the Fake News to have fun with. Final ten feet I ran down to level ground. Momentum!” he added.

Mr. President, thank you for now ensuring that tens of millions more Americans will see the videos of you unsteadily walking on the ramp and lifting a glass of water with two hands, and will wonder what they don’t know about your physical and mental condition. #TrumpIsNotWell https://t.co/TC7u7a1lXi

Yet again, this guy has an amazing ability to draw attention to the things that embarrass him the most.

He didn’t have to tweet it. He could have let it go. If he was mindful in any way whatsoever he wouldn’t have put himself in a position we were going to talk about his ramp walk for a day.

Always. A. Tweet. https://t.co/kwUDBYCpo4

Some people are afraid that when Trump loses he won’t leave the White House. Don’t worry. The Army Corps of Engineers will build a sturdy ramp with solid handrails.

Lots of very legitimate questions about Trump's health in here. The fact that a 74 year old President seeking reelection is hiding basis health information from the public should be a national scandal https://t.co/buP6t43Img

Trump and his fans love to poke fun at “Slow Joe” Biden, but how do we know Trump doesn’t have his own issues? I’ve long suspected Trump, his physician and all those around him have gone to great lengths to hide Trump’s true mental and physical health. The mental health issues have long been obvious — just read some of his tweets. But I’m sure he has some physical health issues too. This incident may have proven that
There is no shame in not being as young as you used to be. Trump is 74. Someone his age is bound to have a body that doesn’t quite work as well as it used to. I’m a few years behind Trump and I have age-related afflictions. It’s nothing to be ashamed of, nothing worth hiding.
But I mean that for normal, well adjusted people and as we all know, Trump is neither normal nor well adjusted. He has this obsession with projecting an image of a super human. No one, other than his fans, buy that image. The incident Saturday would not have been such a big deal had not Trump mocked Hillary or Biden over their health. If this incident contributes to his loss of the presidency in November, it would be his own fault.
