“Saturday Night Live” this weekend paid tribute to former President George H.W. Bush, who died Friday night at the age of 94

On the sketch comedy show’s “Weekend Update” segment, hosts Michael Che and Colin Jost gave their “thoughts and condolences” to Bush’s family and friends.

The show then aired clips of former cast member Dana Carvey’s portrayal of Bush during his presidency, followed by a clip of Bush responding to Carvey on the show.

“I’m watching you do your impression of me, and I’ve gotta say it’s nothing like me,” Bush said in the clip. “It’s bad, it’s bad.”

Carvey, who performed at the White House Christmas party in 1992 at Bush’s invitation, said earlier this year that he enjoyed “so many warm moments” with Bush and former first lady Barbara Bush, who died in April.

“It was a different time,” Carvey said. “It wasn’t scorched-earth, angry politics.”
